FileCatalyst and Woody Technologies Integrate

Ottawa, ON – FileCatalyst, an Emmy® award winning pioneer in managed file transfers and a world-leading accelerated file transfer solution, has announced that Woody Technologies has integrated FileCatalyst’s accelerated file transfer technology into the Woody Technologies suite of media processing solutions.

FileCatalyst’s accelerated file transfer technology has been integrated with Woody in2it, Woody Ingest and Woody Outgest. This integration allows users to transfer processed media at an accelerated rate, while offering compatibility with Woody products across multi-site architectures, as well as on the field.

FileCatalyst provides FTP alternatives that enable users to send files of any size or format at full line speed, up to hundreds of times faster than FTP, while ensuring the secure and reliable delivery of every file. Organizations use FileCatalyst to solve issues related to content distribution, file sharing and offsite backups (cloud). Acceleration is achieved by utilizing a patented, built in house, UDP-based file transfer technology that overcomes the issues of slow file transfers caused by network impairments such as latency and packet loss.

Woody in2it is a popular tool used to import assets from camera cards, and other file based ingest methods, into any media asset management system. Woody in2it can be used from the field or local offices to index, transcode and transfer content to a broadcaster’s main facility. By integrating FileCatalyst into the solution, journalists and operators can exponentially boost their productivity and focus on added value tasks.

Woody Outgest is the ultimate solution for automating transfers from Avid® Interplay|Production environments to archives, playout or the web. Since integrating FileCatalyst, customers can now transfer content from post production to distant playout facilities, or cloud archives, at speeds that can be up to 100 times faster than TCP/FTP.

Woody Ingest automates transcoding and ingest tasks across multiple environments. The FileCatalyst integration allows for centralized ingest tasks to multiple locations.

“Our partnership with FileCatalyst gives our customers the ability to combine the efficiency of the Woody processing engine with a well proven transfer acceleration solution, thus enhancing their end to end workflows,” says Nicolas Gautron, CEO of Woody Technologies.

“Woody Technologies is a robust suite of media asset management solutions. It makes sense to integrate FileCatalyst’s acceleration into these solutions, making it an even more vital asset to their customers’ workflows,” says Elton Carneiro, Director – Strategic Partnerships & Cloud Services for FileCatalyst.

FileCatalyst and Woody Technologies will be attending the IBC Show this year in Amsterdam from September 15-19. For those attending IBC2017 that want to learn more, FileCatalyst will be in Hall 7, Booth B21 (7.B21) and Woody Technologies will be in be in Hall 3, Booth B39 (3.B39). They will be showcasing their entire suite of products, as well as giving live demos on the tradeshow floor.
